Tomorrow (Sept. 9), Deborah Willis gives a free talk on her debut short-story collection, "Vanishing and Other Stories." Willis, a Canadian who works as a bookseller in British Columbia, explores tales of emotional physical absences in her stories. The 7 p.m. talk is at Kepler's Books, 1010 El Camino Real, Menlo Park.
