■ Film: 'Bells Are Ringing'

Judy Holliday plays a charmingly meddlesome telephone operator in the 1960 film, "Bells Are Ringing," screening today (Sept. 1) at 7:30 p.m. at the Stanford Theatre, 221 University Ave., Palo Alto. ■ Wednesday Farmers Market

A new farmers market in downtown Palo Alto will be held today (Sept. 1) from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at Lytton Plaza (University and Emerson). For more information, visit www.paloaltofarmshop.org.
