Today's events (Aug. 26)

■ Music: Marc Koltun

Singer Marc Koltun, who describes himself as a 60-year-old baritone with a "crooner/jazz" voice, performs tonight (Aug. 26) from 8 to 11 p.m. at the Oak City Bar & Grill. The restaurant is at 1029 El Camino Real in Menlo Park. Koltun said he pursued singing more seriously decades ago, but quit in 1976, a time when rock seemed more popular than standards. Now he's hoping to find a new following. For more information, go to oakcitybarandgrill.com.

■ Art talk: 'Looking Inward'

Three artists from the Djerassi Resident Artists Program near Woodside give a lecture on the creative process tonight (Aug. 26) at 7 p.m. at the Palo Alto Art Center, 1313 Newell Road. The scheduled speakers are Nebraska visual artist Xia Gao, Connecticut poet Ravi Shankar and Vietnam visual artist Thu Kim Vu. The event is free, but reservations are required; call 650-329-2366.
