■ Dance: Outdoor rumba

Tomorrow (Aug. 24) from 6 to 8 p.m., the city of Redwood City holds a free rumba lesson and open social dancing following the 30-minute demonstration outside on Courthouse Square at 2200 Broadway. Instructors from Arthur Murray dance studios will lead the lessons. For more information, go to redwoodcity.org.

■ Art: Quilt display

Starting tomorrow (Aug. 24), a new exhibition of art quilts by Karin Lusnak will be on view at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts at 500 Castro St. Lusnak, who worked for many years as a research associate in genetics and molecular biology laboratories, often uses the motifs of the house form and the spiral. The art can be viewed one hour prior to public performances in the center, and Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 1 p.m., through Oct. 18. Go to karinlusnak.com.
