• Theater: 'Omeros'
Stanford Summer Theatre presents free staged readings tonight (Aug. 10) and Wednesday (Aug. 11) of Derek Walcott's "Omeros," which re-sets Homer's heroes in the Caribbean. • Music: 'Spanish Inspirations'
Tonight (Aug. 10) at 8 p.m., the "Spanish Inspirations" concert from the Music@Menlo chamber-music festival features mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke, the Jupiter String Quartet and other musicians in a program of Spanish and Spanish-inspired music. Composers include Isaac Albeniz, Manuel de Falla and Claude Debussy. The concert is at Menlo-Atherton High School's new performing-arts center, 555 Middlefield Road, Atherton.
