East Palo Alto police probe 'suspicious death'

Police responded to suicide report, found victim with stab wound

East Palo Alto police are investigating the death of a 59-year-old man who was found with a stab wound to his upper body Sunday night.

Police found the man at about 11 p.m. Sunday after they received a report of a possible suicide in an apartment on the 400 block of East O'Keefe Street. When they arrived, they found the man inside the apartment suffering from a stab wound.

Paramedics pronounced the man deceased at the scene.

Police are trying to determine what events that took place prior to the incident, according to a statement from the department

Police said there were no witnesses located in the area. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Kevin Ferreira at (650) 798-5955 or the department's anonymous tip line at (650) 853-8477.
