■ Music: 'The English Voice'

Tonight (July 26), the Music@Menlo festival presents 20th-century English chamber music in a concert entitled "The English Voice." The Miro Quartet, mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke and other musicians will perform Benjamin Britten's 1947 work "A Charm of Lullabies" and works by William Walton and Edward Elgar. The performance is at 8 p.m. at Menlo School's Stent Family Hall, 50 Valparaiso Ave., Atherton. Tickets are $72 general and $35 for students. Call 650-331-0202 or go to musicatmenlo.org.

■ Music: Dena DeRose

Tonight (July 26), the Stanford Jazz Festival hosts a concert by pianist and singer Dena DeRose, accompanied by bassist Peter Barshay and drummer Akira Tana. DeRose has been praised both for her "sultry" jazz voice as well as her piano skills. The concert will be at Campbell Recital Hall, 471 Lagunita Drive at Stanford University, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $32 general and $18 for students. Call 650-736-0324 or go to stanfordjazz.org.
