Got photos?

Fourth of July weekend is a perfect time for picture taking

Local shutterbugs now have a new way to share their best photos with the public.

Palo Alto Online has introduced an online picture gallery to which photographers can upload their pictures.

Photos can be submitted in five categories: breaking news, community events, sports, travel and "just for fun." Captions will allow the photographers to elaborate on the context for the pictures.

Several of the submitted photos will be selected for display on the website's front page on a regular basis.

The photo gallery is available on the left-hand side of by scrolling down below Town Square or by clicking here.

Now that there is a photo gallery how about a topic of Photos in categories drop-down list? Or at least a category for the Weekly Online.

These photos are screened and apparently the screener is on vacation, no? No new photos.

It's more likely that people can only find the gallery through this rather improminent posting. The promised link "on the left-hand side of by scrolling down below Town Square" ain't there.

Tim Buck II: If you go to the Palo Alto Online homepage and scroll down below Town Square (Town Square is located directly beneath the main photo on the left), you will see "Photo Gallery" (just after Fogster Classifieds). There you will find links to "Submit your photo" or "See complete photo gallery." Also, here's a direct link:
