Two masked men boldly robbed the Tiffany & Co. jewelry store at Stanford Shopping Center at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, telling 15 employees and 12 customers to get on the floor.
The men were armed with what appeared to be a large tool, Palo Alto Police Sgt. Sandra Brown said.
The men smashed a jewelry case and took an unknown amount of jewelry. None of the employees or customers was injured.
After leaving the store, the men ran through the mall to a waiting car with a third man inside.
The first man was described as black, wearing a black mask, black baseball hat, black sweatshirt and black shoes. He is 5-feet-9-inches tall with a thin build.
The second man was described as wearing a white baseball hat, black mask, black sweatshirt and black shoes. He is 5-feet-9-inches tall with a heavy build.
The waiting car was a white Hyundai Elantra with four doors, license plate number 5XYM351. It was stolen in Fremont two days earlier.
