A nurse stuck by a car near Stanford Hospital early Saturday morning suffered a cracked pelvis and a mild concussion and is expected to make a full recovery, according to Palo Alto Police Agent Rich Bullerjahn.
The 56-year-old woman, who was not identified, was crossing Welch Road at 6:47 a.m. and the driver of the car who hit her may not have seen her because of the early morning sun, Bullerjahn said.
It is not known yet if the driver will be charged with any violation.
Traffic was detoured briefly while officers collected measurements and took photographs. The street was re-opened to traffic at 9:15 a.m. The investigation is ongoing.
