Olympic swim team burglarized

Three rooms at the Sheraton Hotel belonging to members of the United States Olympic swimming team were burglarized Wednesday. The losses, totaling $10,000 in undisclosed possessions, were reported at 11:20 a.m., according to Palo Alto police.

There was no additional information available Thursday on the members of the swimming team who had been burglarized or what they had lost.

The team is training at Stanford through July 31 before leaving for another training camp, in Mallorca, Spain. From there, the team will travel to Athens, Greece and the start of the 2004 Summer Olympics on Aug. 13.
