Murky water ahead for Palo Alto

Palo Altans will see murkier than usual tap water on Wednesday and Thursday. The cloudiness in the water will be due to extra air in the water because the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission will be doing work on the system, letting air into it.

Palo Alto, and much of the Peninsula, gets its water from San Francisco.

But the water will be safe to drink, said Jennifer Crosson of the Palo Alto Utilities Department. Anyone upset with the cloudiness in the water should let it stand for a while, and the air in it will dissipate.
