Boys & Girls Club of the Peninsula Support of the Center for a New Generation serving 2nd-8th graders from Ravenswood school district and offering students opportunities for music, performing arts, and academic enrichment programs. -- $5,000.
CAR (Community Association for Rehabilitation) For 250 hours of instruction to families and their infants in the early intervention of infants with developmental disabilities. -- $5,000.
Challenge Learning Center Youth Leadership and Community Service program teaching a variety of leadership and public-speaking skills. -- $5,000.
Children's Day in East Palo Alto Support for Children's Day in the Park, a free, fun-filled day with activities for parents and families. -- $3,500.
Clara-Mateo Alliance, Inc. Support for Family and Children's programs at transitional family housing facility. -- $7,500.
Community Development Institute Leadership Training Academy, a program offering leadership training to middle and high school youth. -- $3,000.
Community School of Music and Arts Early Childhood Music and Art Program for preschoolers, supporting salaries, art and music supplies and administrative costs. -- $3,000.
Community Working Group, Inc. Funds for construction of homeless Opportunity Center. -- $25,000.
East Palo Alto Kids Foundation Provide small grants to educators on a quick turn-around basis. -- $10,000.
East Palo Alto Teen Home Support for Transitional Housing Program (THP) through the purchase of appliances, furniture, linens etc, needed for the program. -- $5,000.
East Palo Alto YMCA Summer Day Camp serving 350-500 youth ages five through twelve. -- $5,000.
El Carmelo Elementary School To create an after school homework club. -- $3,000.
Environmental Volunteers Palo Alto Baylands Ecology Program reaching students and teachers in surrounding communities. -- $3,000.
Family & Children Services Early Childhood Services (ECS) to children, parents and caregivers at fifteen childcare sites. -- $7,500.
Family Connections Six-week summer school program for low income families. -- $5,000.
Foundation for a College Education College Bound Program, including special workshops on various college preparedness topics. -- $5,000.
Foundation for the Future Menlo-Atherton High School Adolescent counselor position for students enrolled in the Compass program targeting at-risk incoming freshman. -- $5,000.

Registration is now open for the 33rd annual Palo Alto Weekly Moonlight Run and Walk. This family-friendly event which benefits local nonprofits serving kids and families will take place on Friday, Oct. 6 at the Palo Alto Baylands.
