Palo Alto City Library - Upcoming Programs for SeniorsUploaded: Jan 31, 2020
(Special guest blog entry by Alison de Geus, a Senior Librarian with the Palo Alto City Library, focused on Adult Services.)
Palo Alto Library is excited to participate in this year’s Book to Action funded by the California State Library. Book to Action takes the basic book club concept and expands it to create a dynamic series of events for adults and intergenerational groups. Our book selection for the Book to Action program is Wrinkles by Paco Roca.
During the month of May 2020, Palo Alto City Library will be hosting Book to Action events centered around the topics of Alzheimer’s and aging. Our aim is to recognize the vibrancy and richness of life experience and the tremendous impact that community and family have in providing a sense of belonging to and connection with our Senior citizens. Free copies of Wrinkles will be available for pick up at library branches starting April 14, 2020. Watch the Library’s website (library.cityofpaloalto.org) for more information on our Book to Action events coming soon!
Registration is currently open for our Intergenerational Storytime, running February 6 – March 5 at College Terrace Library. This special storytime series is for seniors with memory care diagnoses and toddlers aged 0-3yrs. Participants will enjoy stories, songs and more! Please email [email protected] to register.
