Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

When I was pregnant with our firstborn I was nervous about babywearing. I was lost as to what carrier to buy and how to ensure that it was safe. It wasn’t until our son was 3 month old that I finally found a carrier that worked very well for me. And I have been wearing my kids in that carrier ever since.

Our baby carrier has become one of the most essential baby items I own. As long as I leave home with diapers and my carrier, we can usually get by.

Wearing baby helped me more smoothly transition from being pregnant to having a newborn to having an alert and curious baby. During "the fourth trimester," baby could have lots of physical contact with me while I had my hands free to tend to my other kids, clean, eat, read, etc.

I’m spending a bit less time babywearing now as our youngest is more and more interested in exploring the world around her and watching her siblings run around and play. And even with a very comfortable carrier, my back is enjoying the much needed break. I am looking forward to scheduling a relaxing massage after 5 months full of babywearing.
