Hoes Down Harvest Celebration

Put your hoes down, learn, dance, and get farmy at the annual Hoes Down Harvest Celebration, Saturday and Sunday, October 1 - 2 at Full Belly Farm in beautiful Capay Valley! Two fun-filled days of events and seminars for all ages, and a truly special opportunity to connect with rural life.

Don't miss this year's new seminars! Bus Tour for Beginning Farmers, Baking with Local Grains, and Cheesemaking with Erik Patterson from Cowgirl Creamery in addition to Small Scale Olive Oil Production, Raising Animals on Grass, Farm Fresh Floral Design, a Kids Camp and more!

Over 5,000 people attend the festival each year, and there is always something for everyone. An amazing children's area, farm tours, glowing carved pumpkins, camping, live music and wagon rides are annual favorites, as well as an all organic farmers' market with a bounty of seasonal foods including a huge variety of pumpkins, melons, apples, fresh-picked almonds and walnuts.

EcoFarm is more than a conference, it’s a gathering of inspiration, renewal and celebration. Attendees walk away with plans and strategies to makes changes in their lives, on their farms and food businesses, and in their communities. Long term collaborations and new project ideas are common results of this 3-day conference for farmers, non profits, chefs, and anyone with an interest in healthy people, healthy planet. Highlights include farm tours, entertainments\and dancing, happy hours, workshops, wonderful meals and a marketplace of ideas and products

The theme “Cultivating Diversity” was chosen for the 2017 EcoFarm Conference.
While diversity is a fundamental feature of ecologically resilient farming, this year’s theme goes beyond the farm, speaking to human diversity. This year we honor the diversity of the many different ways to grow, tend, and care for our environment, as well as the unique and diverse individuals who do that work.

Chocolate candy, ice cream, cookie and dessert makers from the Peninsula and the entire Bay Area will offer their chocolate wares for tasting Oct. 14 and 15 at the 34th annual Chocolate Fest, sponsored by the Congregational Church of Belmont. This benefit event will take place at the church, 751 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont. The tastings will be from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Friday and from 1:30 to 4 p.m. and 7:30-10 p.m. Saturday. Anyone interested in our local food system should check out one or both. Both have been going on for years, and showcase with expertise what local action can do to make the food system vibrant, strong and tasty. We call that high-vibe :) at The Food Party!

This site is different. Uniqueness is felt while going through the blogs in this site. I like varieties so do I enjoy this site very much. Great piece of information is also shared here. Thanks for that
