It will stay there for two years. It's pretty cool, but two years is a long time.
Thanks for your comment, Resident. According to the press release from the Palo Alto Art Center, the Patrick Dougherty sculpture is scheduled to be up for one year: 1/30/11 through 1/30/12.
I asked him how long it was going to stay and he told me "two years." However, the article states "Dougherty's new installation is set to stay up through Jan. 30, 2012. Most of his sapling works, he says, could last about two years, but 'wear and tear might end their life sooner." I'm guessing there might be a lot of wear and tear because it looks like a clubhouse for kids. That's pretty neat that Palo Alto has brought him out here from the E. Coast.
I remember seeing this on the news. Wonder if birds will start making it a temporary home, might even make it more fun to explore!
