Achievekids New program to provide mental health care
and health care advice for historically underserved ethnic youth.

Bayshore Christian Ministries SummerWorks program providing
academic skill-building, leadership training and college and career
preparation for 8th-11th graders. -- $5,000.
Boys & Girls Club of the Peninsula Support of the Center
for a New Generation serving 2nd-8th graders from Ravenswood school
district and offering students opportunities for music, performing
arts, and academic enrichment programs. -- $5,000.
CAR (Community Association for Rehabilitation) For 250
hours of instruction to families and their infants in the early
intervention of infants with developmental disabilities. -- $5,000.
Challenge Learning Center Youth Leadership and Community
Service program teaching a variety of leadership and public-speaking
skills. -- $5,000.
Children's Day in East Palo Alto Support for Children's
Day in the Park, a free, fun-filled day with activities for parents
and families. -- $3,500.
Clara-Mateo Alliance, Inc. Support for Family and Children's
programs at transitional family housing facility. -- $7,500.
Community Development Institute Leadership Training Academy,
a program offering leadership training to middle and high school
youth. -- $3,000.
Community School of Music and Arts Early Childhood Music
and Art Program for preschoolers, supporting salaries, art and
music supplies and administrative costs. -- $3,000.
Community Working Group, Inc. Funds for construction of
homeless Opportunity Center. -- $25,000.
East Palo Alto Kids Foundation Provide small grants to
educators on a quick turn-around basis. -- $10,000.
East Palo Alto Teen Home Support for Transitional Housing
Program (THP) through the purchase of appliances, furniture, linens
etc, needed for the program. -- $5,000.
East Palo Alto YMCA Summer Day Camp serving 350-500 youth
ages five through twelve. -- $5,000.
El Carmelo Elementary School To create an after school
homework club. -- $3,000.
Environmental Volunteers Palo Alto Baylands Ecology Program
reaching students and teachers in surrounding communities. -- $3,000.
Family & Children Services Early Childhood Services (ECS)
to children, parents and caregivers at fifteen childcare sites.
-- $7,500.
Family Connections Six-week summer school program for
low income families. -- $5,000.
Foundation for a College Education College Bound Program,
including special workshops on various college preparedness topics.

Foundation for the Future Menlo-Atherton High School Adolescent
counselor position for students enrolled in the Compass program
targeting at-risk incoming freshman. -- $5,000.
Free At Last Youth Risk Reduction Outreach Project, helping
young people in the community who are sidetracked into activities
which could lead to serious health concerns. -- $5,000.
Friends of the Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo Science outreach
program in East Palo Alto elementary schools -- $5,000.
Girls Club of the Mid-Peninsula Music Learning program,
including practice, rehearsals and concerts. -- $5,000.
Gunn High School Choir Scholarship funds for a performance
tour of China in June 2003. -- $2,500.
Hidden Villa An exchange program between elementary classes
in Menlo Park and East Palo Alto called "Two School Friends Program" --
$5,000.
Inn Vision/Urban Ministry of Palo Alto Community Safety
Net Program, a homeless prevention program offering free services
to families and children at risk of becoming homeless. -- $5,000.
Kara Training for 20 new volunteers for Kara's Youth and
Family Program. -- $5,000.
Music Teachers Assoc. of CA; PA Branch Teachers fees,
supplies and musical instruments and scholarships. -- $1,500.
Pacific Art League of Palo Alto Traveling Art Program
(TAP), serving children in hospitals, shelters, community service
agencies & youth groups. $4,165 Palo Alto Art Center Cultural Kaleidoscope
art education program partnering Palo Alto and Ravenswood schools.

Palo Alto Foundation for Education New science lab equipment
at Gunn and Palo Alto high schools. -- $14,000.
Palo Alto Housing Corporation To support the second year
of the Family Services Program, serving 353 families at 14 PAHC
housing sites. -- $5,000.
PAPPA (Palo Alto Parents & Professionals for Art) For
construction of a 10 x 12 storage shed at the JLS site. -- $2,100.
Peninsula Interfaith Action (PIA) General support of PIA
projects like affordable housing and the Opportunity Center. --

Raices de Mexico Scholarships for youngsters learning
about Mexican folklore and dance. -- $2,000.
Ravenswood City School District-Health Services For a
health management information system for the school district. --

Shelter Network Haven Family House Children's Program
which provides housing and support services for homeless families

St. Vincent de Paul Society Emergency rent, rental deposits & utility

Stanford Jazz Workshop Scholarships to bring local, economically
disadvantaged children to summer jazz workshops. -- $2,000.
Teach for America Support for TFA teachers in East Palo
Alto. -- $5,000.
TheatreWorks TheatreWorks for Schools Program. -- $3,000.
YMCA of the Mid-Peninsula Teen Outreach Center in the
Ventura neighborhood of Palo Alto. -- $5,000.
Youth Community Service General support for the community
service and leadership program. -- $7,500.
YWCA of the Mid-Peninsula Support for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,
Transgender, Queer and Questioning group (LGBTQQ) for youth ages
13-18. -- $7,500.
ZOHAR To provide weekly IndepenDANCE instruction to underserved
and special needs children throughout the Palo Alto area. -- $2,000.

Covenant Children's Center Removal of asbestos and mold
contaminants found in classrooms. -- $5,500.
Crescent Park Community Child Care (CPCCC) To re-construct
playground to comply with new state laws. -- $6,750.
Mini Infant Center Replacement shade cover for outdoor
play yard. -- $2,500.
Palo Alto Community Child Care (PACCC) To purchase playground
equipment for PACCC's Barron Park Children's Center. -- $5,000.
Pre-School Family To purchase an infant/toddler play structure.
-- $5,000.
The Children's Pre-School Center To replace and upgrade
the infant/toddler playground. -- $2,500.
