BACKYARD COMPOST ... FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY ... Yannette Fichou Edwards will teach a class on "Meals the Whole Family Will Enjoy" from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, in Room 103, Palo Alto High School, 50 Embarcadero Road, Palo Alto. Meals include handmade calzone stuffed with pepperoni and olives for the kids, ricotta, spinach and mushrooms for the adults; Asian sesame beef, lemon-grass chicken on skewers; and chocolate chip cake.
