City Council (March 5)
Theater: The council approved a staff recommendation to spend $250,000 from Stanford University's fund dedicated to transit-station improvements for design work relating to a proposal to build a theater and an office building at the present site of MacArthur Park. Council Finance Committee (March 6)
Golf: The committee discussed proposals to reconfigure the Palo Alto Municipal Golf Course and recommended approving Option G, which would relocate 15 holes and make room for three athletic facilities. Yes: Unanimous
Trash rates: The committee recommended adding fixed fees to residential refuse rates to account for the cost of street sweeping, household hazardous waste collection and Cleanup Day. Yes: Unanimous
