Flower arranging, garden walks, classes and cooking demos highlight event

Bookmark and Share
Filoli kicks off its 36th anniversary as a historic property of the National Trust for Historic Preservation on Friday, Feb. 24, with Daffodil Daydreams, a three-day celebration that will showcase its American Daffodil Society Display Garden and an array of events to educate visitors about daffodils.

Daffodil Daydreams consists of various talks, tours, demonstrations and activities for all ages. On Friday and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. members of the Northern California Daffodil Society will answer questions and provide information about the events all day. Each activity will last about one to two hours, including arts and crafts for children; special talks by artists, Filoli instructors and members; as well as cooking and flower-arranging demos. Visitors are also invited to paint or photograph the garden, on a first-come, first-served basis.

On Sunday, the last day of Daffodil Daydreams, operating hours will be from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. A garden walk will also be available on this day.

Visitors can enjoy daffodil displays found around the Visitor and Education Center, as well as an art exhibit, Landmarks of California, presented by the San Mateo County Office of Education.
