City Council (June 6)

Stanford Hospital: The council approved a development agreement and certified the Environmental Impact Report for Stanford University Medical Center's hospital renewal and replacement project. Yes: Burt, Espinosa, Holman, Price, Scharff, Schmid, Shepherd, Yeh Abstained: Klein

Policy and Services Committee (June 7)

Binding arbitration: The committee discussed repealing or amending the city's binding-arbitration provision for public-safety workers. The committee couldn't reach a consensus and voted to refer the discussion to the full council. Yes: Unanimous

Smoking: The committee directed staff to explore a licensing program for the city's tobacco retailers. Yes: Unanimous
