HOLIDAY ARRANGEMENTS ... Gamble Garden is offering fresh, custom centerpieces, either in one's own or a purchased container, created by its expert flower arrangers on Saturday, Dec. 11, from 9 a.m. to noon at 1431 Waverley St., Palo Alto. People are asked to arrive by 11 a.m. to ensure arrangements are completed by noon. Cost is $25 for small, $35 for medium or $45 for a large arrangement. DESIGN FOR BEGINNERS ... Palo Alto Weekly columnist and interior designer Kit Davey will teach a class on "Interior Design for Beginners" on Saturday, Dec. 11, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at De Anza College, Room G-6, 21250 Stevens Creek Blvd., Cupertino. The class will cover color schemes, furniture arrangement, selecting wallpaper and area rugs, and lighting techniques. Weber, who has been teaching vermicomposting for San Mateo County for 10 years, will talk about how to turn kitchen scraps into botanical gold. Cost is $39.
