Quote of the week
"I don't like holding hard-cover books in my hand anymore — they're too heavy."
— Greg Scharff, Palo Alto city councilman, on why he reads e-books rather than print books. See story on page 3.

Posted by What???, a resident of Another Palo Alto neighborhood, on Nov 19, 2010 at 9:01 am "Too Heavy"? That's just silly! How much does a Kindle or a IPad weigh? Who holds either a book or electronic media device fully supported, anyway? Ever heard of a tabletop or your lap?
How does he hold all the reports at a Council meeting?
Must be a "limp wristed" type of problem.

So the guy prefers his kindle, or whatever..who cares?
Or do we need the book nazis to force everyone to use only hard copy books?
Geez

Posted by Quote of the Week, a resident of Another Palo Alto neighborhood, on Nov 19, 2010 at 5:27 pm I just heard the Quote of the Week on the radio was "Don't touch my junk".
Didn't realise hard cover books were now classed as junk in Palo Alto.

I merely asked if "What???" was intending a slur with his "limp wristed" type of problem statement, and told how many older and impaired people found e-readers easier to use than books.
