FROM GRAY TO GREEN ... Sherri Osaka, a landscape architect and owner of Sustainable Landscape Designs, will teach a class on "Graywater for a Green Garden" on Saturday, July 31, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Common Ground Education Center, 559 College Ave., Palo Alto. The class will cover assembling and maintaining an inexpensive system to irrigate a garden with graywater, as well as explaining local ordinances. Cost is $31. FLOWERS WITH FLAIR ... Wendy Morck will teach a class called "Flowers with Flair! Summertime Flower Arranging" on Saturday, July 31, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Filoli, 86 Canada Road, Woodside. Fee, which includes costs for all materials in a one-of-a-kind flower arrangement, is $80 for nonmembers, $65 for members. Information: 650-364-8300 or www.filoli.org.

SECOND WEDNESDAYS ... Gamble Garden will again be offering its Garden Fresh Luncheons on the second Wednesday of the month at noon, beginning Sept. 22 (a fourth Wednesday). Luncheons are followed by a complimentary docent-led tour of the gardens. Fee is $25 for nonmembers, $20 for members. Advance reservations are recommended. WHACK INVASIVE PLANTS ... Volunteers are needed every Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon to remove invasive, non-native plants — including yellow starthistle and French broom — at Foothills Park. Friends of Foothill Park volunteers meet at the Orchard Glen picnic area but are advised to check the website, www.fofpark.org, in case the group is heading for more remote areas of the park.
