GREEN HOME TOUR ... The Barron Park Green Team will host a free, self-guided Green Tour 2010 on Sunday, June 27, from 1 to 5 p.m. Energy-efficient systems — including photovoltaic panels, solar hot water, electric cars — and sustainable, organic and drought-tolerant gardens in 12 homes will be on tour. Barron Park master gardeners will host four talks (at 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.) along the way on how to compost, grow vegetable gardens and native plants and raise chickens. A map of the tour homes will be available at Bol Park (Laguna at Matadero avenues) as will vendor and nonprofit booths with information on how to green homes. Information: www.bpaonline.org/GreenTeam/greentour-2010-announcement.html.

SUNSET DREAM REMODEL ... Sunset Magazine launched its Dream Remodel website where readers can watch a remodel in Los Gatos take place in real time. The redesign starts with picking up and moving a 1,700-square-foot, 1920s California Mediterranean bungalow 90 degrees — and remodeling it inside and out using sustainable materials and techniques. On the website, readers can submit their own before-and-after photos for Sunset's "I Love My Remodel" contest; editors' favorites will be posted for the public to vote on. The Los Gatos home will be on tour for four weeks in late summer and will be featured in the October issue of Sunset. Information: www.sunset.com/dreamremodel.

The foundation presented 18 scholarships this year.
