A HEALTHY GARDEN ... UC Master Gardener David Peterson will discuss how to "Grow a Healthy Eco-Friendly Garden" on Saturday, May 8, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Gamble Garden Center, 1431 Waverley St., Palo Alto. The free workshop will cover how to control pests and diseases, as well as how to identify disease problems. FREE E-WASTE COLLECTION ... Old CPUs, monitors, keyboards, cell phones, small appliances, TVs, stereos — even peanuts and bubble wrap — can be e-cycled on Saturday, May 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ohlone Elementary School, 950 Amarillo Ave., Palo Alto. This is a fundraiser for the Ohlone PTA; proceeds from the recycling will not be sent overseas or dumped in the landfill, according to the Ohlone Green Team. The class will compare drip and spray systems and demonstrate pressure reduction, filtration and irrigation controllers. Cost is $31.
