A big year for Palo Alto soccer team

The Palo Alto Ravens made quite an impact in only their first season of play in the boys Under-10 division of the California Youth Soccer Association.

The Ravens, affiliated with the Ohlone United Soccer Club of Palo Alto, completed their debut season with a 15-1-3 record--good enough to claim the CYSA District II Redwood League title. The league includes teams from South San Francisco to Palo Alto.

Earlier last month, the Ravens captured the District II Cup tournament in Sunnyvale. That event featured teams from South San Francisco to Watsonville.

The Ravens consisted of 15 boys from Palo Alto and Menlo Park, ranging in age from 7-9 years, and were coached by Weston Rose (head) and assistants Paul Aplin, John Picazo and Clarence Williams.
