RHODODENDRON SOCIETY . . . The DeAnza Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 1991 Deodora Drive, Los Altos. This will be a hands-on meeting showing the basics of rhododendron propagation. Enthusiasts will share their successes and failures of rhody-culture. Cutttings and materials will be provided. ONE GOOD TERN . . . This month's general meeting and program of the Santa Clara Valley Audubon Society will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 8 p.m. at the Palo Alto Cultural Center at Newell and Embarcadero roads. The program features a presentation on the ecology and conservation of terns by Adrian Del Nevo, who has more than 20 years' experience working as a conservation biologist throughout Europe and Africa. DOWNSIZING OR BUYING UP . . . A free workshop on how you can profit from the new tax laws will be held on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 7:30 p.m. at the Senior Center, 450 Bryant St. in Palo Alto.
