WHERE ARE THE BEES? . . . The Garden Club of Menlo Park will get the buzz on where all the bees have gone when Mr. D. Williams, a honeybee expert gives his talk "Honeybees: Facts and Myths" on April 22 at 1 p.m. at the Menlo Park Recreation Center. Guests are welcome. Call 325-0450 for more information.

A REAL INVESTMENT . . . Considering investing in the out-of-state real estate market? Adiel Gorel, a successful real estate investor with the International Capital Group will give tips on identifying the best markets, obtaining low fixed-rate loans and making use of tax benefits available to real estate investors. He will give a free lecture on Wednesday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 625 El Camino Real in Palo Alto.

REMODEL SUCCESS . . . The Palo Alto Adult School is offering a one-day short course full of time and money-saving tips entitled "Remodeling Your Home Successfully" on Saturday, April 19, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Charleston Center, 535 E. SPRING SALE . . . The Garden Club of Los Altos will hold its Spring Plant and Baked Goods Sale from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, on the Creekside Room patio of the United Methodist Church, 655 Magdalena Ave. in Los Altos. Then at 1:30, Mary McLanathan, an expert on local gardens, will offer tips on planting annuals and perennials. McLanathan's presentation will cost $2.

HOME GROWN TALENT . . . The Weekly's own Marcia Miller, ASID and Steven Stein, ASID were winners in the Peninsula Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers' annual design competition. Miller and Stein's interior design column appears every month in the Weekly. Other winners were Palo Alto designers Ruth Soforenko, ASID, Carol Lippert, ASID and Lee Lippert, AIA.
