GET ON THE TOY EXPRESS . . . The fifth annual "Toy Express," benefitting the children at the Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital, will be hosted by the Holiday Inn Palo Alto on Monday, Dec. 23, from 3-5 p.m. Community members are encouraged to bring unwrapped toys, gift certificates or cash donations to the hotel between now and Dec. 23, when the gifts will be given to the hospital at a reception honoring the hospital staff. DINNER AND COMPUTING . . . The Software Forum will present a dinner meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 18, featuring Dr. Terry Winograd of Stanford University speaking on "Computing in the Coming Millennium." GREEN GRANTS . . . Community outreach grants of up to $2,500 are now available from the San Mateo Countywide Stormwater Pollution Prevention Program. The grants will fund programs that promote pollution prevention or otherwise help to reduce pollution in the creeks, the bay or the ocean within the San Mateo County watershed. ALZHEIMER'S SUPPORT . . . Project REACH provides free support services to eligible women who are caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's or related problems. The federally funded study is designed to teach caregivers how to manage stress, depression, fatigue and other pressures. Support services can be provided in either English or Spanish.
