TIPS ON TICKS . . . Four experts on Lyme disease will hold a panel discussion examining risk factors for the disease and offering tips for preventing it, identifying infectious ticks and recognizing symptoms in people and pets. The discussion will be June 2, at 7 p.m. at Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital, 725 Welch Road. Free. Call 723-9933.

WORLD CUP VOLUNTEERS . . . The Kiwanis Club of Palo Alto is seeking volunteers to help at the World Cup Soccer games to be played at Stanford Stadium between June 20 and July 10. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and will assist in ticket taking at the six scheduled games. Volunteers will receive official souvenirs and will be able to see part of each game. CANDIDATE FORUM . . . Candidates for the East Palo Alto Sanitary District board of directors will participate in a one-hour live show with viewer call-in, to be broadcast on the Mid-Peninsula Access Corporation Public Access Chanel 6, May 26, 7:30 p.m.

ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS . . . The Palo Alto City Council is accepting applications from persons interested in serving on the Mid-Peninsula Access Corporation Board of Directors for a two-year term. Deadline for receipt of applications in the City Clerk's Office is 5 p.m., June 3. Call 329-2226.

ADVISORS SOUGHT . . . The San Mateo County Transportation Authority is accepting applications to fill six volunteer positions on its Citizens Advisory Committee. Applications are available at the SamTrans central office at 1250 San Carlos Ave., San Carlos. Deadline for submitting applications is May 27. All applicants must be residents of San Mateo County. HAZARDOUS WASTE . . . The City of Palo Alto, in cooperation with its Household Hazardous Waste Program contractor, Greenfield Services Corporation, now offers hazardous waste management services for businesses that generate small amounts of hazardous waste. Call 496-6980.

GRADUATE LISTINGS . . . The Age Center Alliance, Inc. has made a listing of graduates of a training program for non-medical care in the home. The current registry includes information on 78 graduates and is available for $10. Call 854-5174.
