WORK WITH WOOD? . . . Palo Alto Adult School will offer several classes for woodworkers of all skills levels, including: Woodworking -- Beginning: Build a Shaker Drying Rack (John P. McCormack), Jan. 10-March 21, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. ($195); Woodworking -- Beginning: Build a Small Table (Rayan Ghazal, Marcus Miller), Jan. 9-March 20, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. ($175); Woodworking -- Intermediate: Build a Workbench (John P. McCormack), Jan. 12-March 23 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. ($195); Woodworking: Mixed Levels (Roy Williams), Jan. 11-March 22, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. ($195). PRUNING SMALL TREES . . . Garden coach and Palo Alto Weekly columnist Jack McKinnon will talk about pruning small trees at the next meeting of The Florets Garden Club on Thursday, Jan. 12 at 1:30 p.m. The group meets at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1295 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto. FIRST, CHECK FENG SHUI . . . Linda Lenore will teach a class titled "Feng Shui for Building, Buying, Redecorating and Remodeling Your Home" on Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Palo Alto High School. Offered through Palo Alto Adult School, the class will cover such topics as locating a building on the lot, landscaping, Five Element Theory, color and accessories, as well as what features make a building more desirable to purchase.
