OAKS' CORNER . . . The Menlo College men's basketball team split two games at the Bahamas Sunshine Shootout. The Oaks beat College of Mount St. Joseph, 53-58, on Wednesday as junior Aaron Gentry scored 11 points and sophomores Jay Eitel and Bryon Wesley each scored 10. Menlo (6-4) hosts Pacific University on Friday, Dec. 30 at 8 p.m. On Tuesday, Menlo dropped a 56-54 decision to North Georgia College in a game decided in the final seconds. James Gilkey paced Menlo with 17 points . . . Senior 133-pounder Pablo Sanchez recorded a 3-0 record while seniors Alfonso Paez (133), Juan Roman (141) and Kyle Bickford (157) and freshman Mike Rodriguez (125) all went 3-1 as the Menlo College men's wrestling team recorded a 3-2 mark at the Las Vegas Desert Duals, hosted by Wartburg College at the Flamingo Las Vegas Sunset Ballroom, on Monday.
