Stanford senior Ray Blake recorded a technical fall at 165 pounds and redshirt freshman Luke Feist won his first career match with a major decision to highlight a 30-6 victory over visiting San Francisco State in a nonconference men's wrestling meet on Tuesday night.

Blake's 17-2 victory, his 12th win of the season, clinched the Cardinal win. Feist recorded an 8-0 decision at 174 pounds.

"I'm very happy to have our first dual win of the season," Stanford coach Kerry McCoy said. "It was a rocky start, but we came back and got the win. Some people were nervous, but we're making improvements each week and we continue to get better."

Junior Ian Bork opened the match with a 10-7 decision at 197 pounds, but the Gators responded with a win at heavyweight.

Sophomore Tanner Gardner earned a win by forfeit at 125, but San Francisco State countered at 133 with an 8-3 decision to pull within three.

Freshman Tyler Parker held on to take a 6-4 decision at 141 pounds, and Juston Johnson took a win by medical forfeit over defending Division II NCAA champion Pacifico Garcia at 157, after a collision broke Garcia's nose.

Senior Larry Ozowara finalized the victory with a 10-6 win at 184.

Men's tennis

Stanford swept host Hawaii, 7-0, on Tuesday at the Orchid Hotel and Resort on the Island of Hawaii.

The Cardinal won all six singles matches and scored the doubles point by winning all three doubles matches. K.C. Corkery beat Sascha Heinemann, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 1 singles. All six singles matches were straight set victories.

Matt Bruch, Menlo School grad James Pade, James Wan, Blake Muller and Jon Wong also won.

Women's tennis

Top-ranked Stanford won all six singles matches and three doubles contests to beat host Hawaii, 7-0, on Tuesday afternoon.

Senior Amber Liu defeated Kana Aikawa, 6-0, 6-1 at No.1 singles to lead the sweep. Alice Barnes, Whitney Deason, Theresa Logar, Jessica Nguyen, and Megan Doheny all won in straight sets.

Stanford lost a mere 11 points in the six singles matches.

Women's volleyball

Stanford junior middle blocker Lizzie Suiter, limited to 44 games because of injury, was named to the first team All-Academic Pac-10. Suiter is fourth on the team with 42 total blocks.

Senior libero Courtney Schultz, the only player to see action in all 97 games, was named to the second team, while senior setter Katie Goldhahn and junior outside hitter Nji Nnamani received honorable mention.

The fifth-ranked Cardinal (12-4, 23-5) are in Los Angeles to play No. 16 UCLA today at 7 p.m. and No. 13 USC on Saturday at 7 p.m. Freshman middle blocker Foluke Akinradewo is 10th in the nation with a .407 hitting percentage, while sophomore setter Bryn Kehoe is third in assists per game (14.30) despite missing the past five matches with a broken hand.

Men's water polo

Stanford opens play at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament today with an 11:30 a.m. match against Pepperdine at USC's McDonald Swim Center.

The tournament champion receives an automatic bid into the NCAA Final Four at Bucknell. The MPSF will also receive an at-large bid.

Stanford sophomore Sandy Hohener leads the conference with 8.12 saves per game while senior Peter Varellas is second in scoring with 2.27 goals per game.

USC's Jaraj Zatovic leads the MPSF in scoring (2.77) and Long Beach State leads the conference in team scoring at 10.19. USC's Don Ricci allows a conference best 4.00 goals per game.
