A look at the first five of 10 candidates in the City Council election

To help sort out the 10 candidates for the Palo Alto City Council, the Palo Alto Weekly asked the candidates questions pertaining to the city's budget, libraries, police and other important issues. Select responses from five of the candidates appear in today's paper; answers from the other five candidates will appear next Wednesday.
