OAKS' CORNER . . . The Menlo College women's soccer team defeated visiting Holy Names, 3-0, in a Cal Pac Conference match on Wednesday. Molly Flanagan scored twice on free kicks and Heather Klassen made five saves for the Oaks (2-0, 7-3-1), who travel to Mills College in Oakland on Saturday at 1 p.m. . . . The Menlo College men's soccer team dropped a 6-1 decision to visiting Holy Names on Wednesday in a Cal Pac Conference contest. Jonathan Delgado scored the Oaks' (0-1-1, 6-4-1) only goal. Menlo is at Cal State Maritime today at 7 p.m. . . . Both the Menlo College men's and women's cross country teams finished second at the Holy Names Invitational over the weekend at Bort Meadows in Chabot Regional Park. Menlo freshman Shareese Mulholland finished fourth in the 3.1-mile women's race for the Oaks, racing a 24:26.00 as the Oaks finished a point behind Pacific Union, 27-28. Oaks senior Alfonso Paez went 33:52.00 in the five-mile men's race as Menlo finished second with 54 points. Holy Names swept the top five places for the title. The Oaks are entered in today's Pacific Union Preview.
ON THE LINKS . . . Spots are still open for the Palo Alto Area Bar Association Golf Tournament, set for Monday at the Stanford Golf Course. More than 100 golfers are expected to compete, with proceeds making it possible for Community Legal Services to continue to provide legal services to low income area residents.
