FUTURE STYLE . . . HYDRANGEA CARE . . . BIOINTENSIVE INTRO . . . John Jeavons, author of "How to Grow More Vegetables, Fruits, Nuts, Berries, Grains and other Crops," will give a workshop on "Introduction to Grow Biointensive" on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Common Ground, 559 College Ave., Palo Alto. The class will cover double digging, composting and soil-building, intensive planting, companion planting, carbon farming, calorie farming and open-pollinated seeds. From 2 to 4 p.m., Jeavons will talk about "Double Digging and Bed Preparation," the first step in a Grow Biointensive garden. Fee for each class is $21. GAMBLE GARDEN WORKSHOPS . . . Two workshops will be offered Saturday, Sept. 10, at Gamble Garden Center, 1431 Waverley St., Palo Alto. Master gardener Susan Zaslow will offer "Tuscany Winter Herb & Allium Garden" from 9 to 11 a.m. in the library. She will focus on herbs, garlic, onions and chives in her free presentation.
