MVP CONCERT MASTER. . .
At this month's Association of California Symphony Orchestras conference, Alan Cooper, concert master of the Palo Alto-based Peninsula Pops Orchestra, was given the 2005 Most Valuable Player Award.
Cooper was honored for his work in building and improving the orchestra, which plays popular music from the movies, Broadway shows and the Big Band era. He was chosen from among 165 California orchestras, said Alicia Wilmunder, executive director of the Peninsula Pops.
