Played tennis

Sold lemonade

Yumi and Mieko Temple, Colin Smith and Charlene Temple try to attract customers to their lemonade stand at the corner of Ross Road and Stone Lane. Yumi and Mieko also made fresh cookies.

Went swimming

Tyler Wilson, a member of the Eichler Swim Club team the Gators, beats the heat by practicing the breast stroke in the cool of the pool.

Went fishing

Jesse Hoshizaki catches a fish out of Lake Boronda at Foothills Park during a s summer school class called introduction to Fishing at JLS Middle School.

Relaxed

Jeremy Wallin of Saratoga lies in the grass during a break at Stanford's iD Tech Camp, where campers spend the week designing Web sites, programming robots, creating 2D and 3D video games, and filming and editing digital movies with special effects.

Studied medicine

Stayed up late

A crowd of young Harry Potter fans lined up outside Kepler's bookstore in Menlo Park awaiting the midnight release of J.K. Rowling's latest, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince."

Went to camp

Ate lots of ice cream
