Connoisseurs' Marketplace
The Connoisseurs' Marketplace, Menlo Park's annual mid-summer salute to the arts, will take place on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Santa Cruz Avenue between El Camino Real and Johnson Street in Menlo Park. The festival will feature original fine art and handmade crafts by 200 West Coast artists, celebrity chefs' demonstrations, international cuisine, premium wines and microbrews, a specialty food gourmet alley, and a kids' thrill zone with fun, games and amusements. Pride & Joy and The Cool Jerks will provide musical entertainment.
An after-hours concert featuring Pride & Joy will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Saturday in Fremont Park in Menlo Park. Admission is free. For more information please call (6500 325-2818 or visit www.miramarevents.com.

Smokey Robinson
Smokey Robinson will perform on Sunday at the 46th annual Summer Symphony concert. Presented by the Children's Health Council, the concert will begin at 6 p.m. at Stanford's Frost Amphitheatre with a performance by the California Youth Symphony.
Gates open at 4:30 p.m. for picnicking and pre-show entertainment. Tickets are $75 chair seating ($20 tax-deductible); $50 for lawn seating; $25 for children (ages 3 to 11) on the lawn). Blame Sally
On Tuesday evening, Blame Sally returns for the third consecutive year to the Twilight Concert Series. The all-female folk-funk-country-soul quartet will perform at 6:30 p.m. at Rinconada Park, 777 Embarcadero Road in Palo Alto. Admission is free. Mime Troupe
The San Francisco Mime Troupe will perform on Sunday at Mitchell Park, 600 East Meadow Drive in Palo Alto. The troupe will perform a brand new play, "Doing Good," inspired by John Perkins' "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man." Loaded with history and a global perspective, "Doing Good" has a backdrop of American foreign policy since World War II.
