Palo Alto Historic Resources Board . . . The board will review plans to renovate the Children's Library, which includes a near doubling in size of the 65-year-old Birge Clark-designed building. The board will also make its recommendations regarding the seismic upgrade and rehabilitation plans for 525 Alma St., which was built in 1917. The meeting will be held at 8 a.m. Wednesday, July 6 inside the City Council Chambers of City Hall (250 Hamilton Ave.).
Palo Alto Architectural Review Board . . . The board will review architectural plans for the former Rickey's Hyatt property at 4219 El Camino Real, now owned by DR Horton Homebuilders. The property is proposed as 185 homes, and the company will be asking the city to allow heights taller than 35 feet along El Camino. The board will also review the application for a new 10,000 square foot, two-story commercial building at 116 University Ave., which is requesting an exception to the height limit. The meeting will be held at 8 a.m. Thursday, July 7 inside the City Council Chambers of City Hall (250 Hamilton Ave.).
