"Vanishing Worlds: Art and Ritual in Amazonia" will be on display through Aug. 21 at Stanford's Cantor Arts Center. Organized by the Houston Museum of Natural Science, the exhibition features 150 art objects from the ceremonies and daily life of indigenous peoples of the Amazon River basin. Tours of the exhibition will take place on Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. The Center is located at Lomita Drive at Museum Way and is open Wednesday - Sunday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Thursday until 8 p.m. Admission is free. "The World Goes 'Round" will run through June 18 at the Bus Barn Theatre, 97 Hillview Ave. in Los Altos. This revue will feature music by John Kander and Fred Ebb, including songs from "Cabaret," "Chicago," "New York New York," "Funny Lady" and "Kiss of the Spider Woman. Stanford Art Spaces presents a "Philippine Art Exhibit" through June 23. The exhibition features works by 14 Philippine artists. "The Tale of the Allergist's Wife" will preview tonight at 8 p.m. at the Lucie Stern Theatre, 1305 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto. Written by Charles Busch, the play chronicles an Upper West side matron suffering from mid-life malaise. Presented by the Palo Alto Players, it will open on Saturday at 8 p.m. and run through run through July 8. Regular show times are 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 2:30 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are $18 for tonight's preview; $22 for Sunday performances; $24 for Wednesday and Thursday performances; $25 for Friday evenings; $27 for Saturday evenings; $29 for Saturday's opening-night performance with a gala to follow. The Palo Alto Art Center presents "Cluster: Lukas Felzmann," "Web/Metamorphosis: Yuriko Yamaguchi" and "Trusting Woods to Tempest Sea: Robert McCauley Leaf," on display June 18 through May 28. A reception will take place tonight from 7:30 to 9 p.m. An artists' talk for Palo Alto Art Center upper-level members will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Docent-led tours will begin July 9 and continue every Saturday at 2 p.m. through Aug. 27. "Dolly West's Kitchen" will open TheatreWorks' 36th season this weekend at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St. Written by Frank McGuiness, the play is set during World War II and centers on an Irish family whose kitchen is the meeting place for Allies. The play will preview tonight and Friday at 8 p.m. and open on Saturday at 8 p.m. Show times are Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m.; Wednesdays through Fridays at 8 p.m.; Saturdays at 2 and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 and 7 p.m. Tickets are $20-$50, with discounts available for youth, students, seniors and members. The Mid-Peninsula Shakespeare Festival will take place tonight at 8 p.m., featuring Shakespeare's "Two Gentlemen of Verona." El Camino Youth Symphony will present its "Bon Voyage Concert" tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Gunn High School's Spangenberg Theatre, 780 Arastradero Road in Palo Alto. The program, a preview of the Symphony's upcoming Central European tour, will include Bernstein's "Overture to Candide," Tchaikovsky's "Symphony No. 4" and Barber's "Violin Concerto," performed by special guest artist, violinist Daphne Wang. The concert will also take place on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1835 Valota Road in Redwood City. Tickets are $10/$5. Hidden Villa Farm and Wilderness Preserve will present a special outdoor Father's Day concert and Barbeque today, featuring ZunZun (joined by their 3-piece band, Chuchumbe).
