LEARN THE BASICS. . . Pamela Chesavage, manager of the Almost Eden Garden Project, will offer a free organic gardening class on Saturday, June 11, 9-11 a.m. at 701 East Meadow Drive, Palo Alto (behind the Baptist Church). The class will deal with the basics of organic vegetable gardening, from how to start and when to irrigate to what can be planted in June. INS AND OUTS OF REMODELING . . . Harrell Remodeling, Mountain View, is offering a Kitchen and Bath Remodeling Workshop on Saturday, June 11, 9 a.m.-noon at 1954 Old Middlefield Way, Mountain View. The workshop will cover pre-planning, choosing an architect, designer or contractor, materials, floor plans and more. Fee is $20 if pre-registered, or $25 at the door. FOR BEGINNERS . . . John P. McCormack will offer a summer, week-long day class called "Woodwork for Beginners" June 20-23, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Palo Alto High School woodshop. Offered through Palo Alto Adult School, the class will cover using basic tools -- bandsaw, lathe, drawknife, spokeshave, inshave and travisher -- to make simple Windsor furniture. Fee is $199.
