Palo Alto City Council . . . The council will select candidates for the Historic Resources Board and approve appointments to the Public Art Commission. The council will also consider the Mayfield Agreement with Stanford University that would build new soccer fields at Page Mill Road and add housing to California Avenue. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers inside City Hall (250 Hamilton Ave.).

Palo Alto Architectural Review Board . . . At the request of a restaurant owner, the board will review a decision made by the city' planning director to approve a wall between Hunan Garden restaurant and the National 9 Inn on El Camino Real. The board will also review a plan by EMC Corporation to demolish 330,000 square feet of building at 3401 Hillview Ave. and replace it with a 460,000-square-foot research-and-development office campus. The meeting will be held at 8 a.m. on Thursday, May 5 in the Council Chambers inside City Hall (250 Hamilton Ave.).
