Robert (Bob) Taylor, attorney at law, will speak at a free workshop on "Winning the Home Buying Game," tomorrow from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the offices of Financial Title Co., 360 Bryant St., Palo Alto. Taylor will talk about the complexities of real estate contracts and disclosure regulations, along with Nick Nicholas, Countrywide Home Loans, who will discuss finding loans, and Ceci Ellis, Taylor Properties, who will share tips on how to win bidding wars. FILOLI FLOWER SHOW . . . Filoli's annual flower show, themed "A Cherished Gift," will be held May 5 to 8 at Filoli, 86 Canada Road, Woodside. The show will include exhibits by professional and amateur designers, including floral vignettes and table settings from local companies. The opening night reception is Thursday, May 5, 6-8 p.m. ($60 for members, $65 for non-members, $125 for patrons). The flower show continues May 6-8, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Cost is $15 for members, $20 for non-members, $5 for children 5-17, free for children under 5. Special afternoon teas are scheduled for Friday and Saturday ($45 for members, $50 for non-members, $30 for children 5-17), and a Mother's Day Champagne Brunch for Sunday ($65 for members, $70 for non-members, $35 for children 5-17). MAXIMIZE PROFITS . . . Palo Alto Weekly columnist, Kit Davey, ASID, will offer her "Stage Your Home for Sale to Maximize Your Profits" workshop on Wednesday, May 4, 7 to 9 p.m. at Foothill College, 12345 Moody Road, Los Altos Hills. Focus is on improving curb appeal and includes room-by-room suggestions for staging. Fee is $35, plus $5 materials fee payable to instructor.
