EXOTIC SUMMER BULBS . . . Merrill Jensen, director of horticulture, will show slides and review growing exotic "Summer Blooming Bulbs" tomorrow from 9 to 11 a.m. at Gamble Garden Carriage House, 1431 Waverley St., Palo Alto. Cost is $35 for non-members, $30 for members, which includes $10 for materials (participants receive a bag of summer-blooming bulbs ready to plant). In addition, UC Extension's Master Gardeners will host a free herb workshop tomorrow, from 9 to 11 a.m., including a tour of the herb garden at Gamble Garden. MORE PRODUCTIVE GARDENS . . . Grow Biointensive's second-year apprentice Margaret Lloyd will teach a class on "Seed Propagation and Transplanting" tomorrow from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Common Ground, 559 College Ave., Palo Alto. A REALLY BIG SHOW . . . Local garden aficionados will participate in this year's San Francisco Flower and Garden Show March 16-20 at the Cow Palace. Participants include Chris Schriner of Brookside Garden in Mountain View, who will create a garden inspired by the Arts and Crafts Movement; Woodside's Filoli Center; Foothill College's Department of Horticulture; the American Rhododendron Society, Menlo Park; Sunset Books, Menlo Park; and Santa Clara County, which will offer a home composting educational booth. SCOTLAND REVISITED . . .Gordon Wylie will talk about gardens he visited in Oban, Scotland, in 1996 and 2001 at the March 16 meeting of the De Anza chapter of the American Rhododendron Society.
