THEATREWORKS ANNOUNCES 2005-2006 SEASON. . .
The world premiere of "Pamela's First Musical," a Wendy Wasserstein-Cy Coleman-David Zippel collaboration, will cap off TheatreWorks' 36th season next year.
Another world premiere will be Tanya Shaffer's "Baby Taj," developed as part of TheatreWorks' New Works Initiative. The season will also feature the West Coast premiere of "Harold and Maude: The Musical," featuring music by Joseph Thalken and book and lyrics by Tom Jones. Northern California premieres include Sarah Ruhl's "The Clean House," Lynn Nottage's "Intimate Apparel" and Nilo Cruz's "Anna in the Tropics," which won the Pulitzer Prize for best drama in 2003. A revival of "Into the Woods," featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine, will be staged for the holidays.
The 2005-2006 season will begin June 15 with the American premiere of "Dolly West's Kitchen" by Frank McGuinness. For more information please visit www.theatreworks.org.
