Palo Alto City Council . . . The council will discuss reopening the Downtown Library on Saturdays . The meeting will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers inside City Hall (250 Hamilton Ave.). A special meeting for the council to interview candidates for the Library Advisory Commission begins at 6 p.m.

Palo Alto City Council Finance Committee . . . The committee will discuss a proposal to require public projects to include art . The meeting will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. in the Council Conference Room inside City Hall (250 Hamilton Ave.).

Palo Alto Architectural Review Board . . . The board will hold a retreat and discuss proposed Architectural Review Board Design Awards , among other topics. The meeting will be held Thursday, Jan. 20 at 8:30 a.m. in the Palo Alto Art Center Conference Room (1313 Newell Road).
