Guys and Dolls
Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice's "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" will open tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Palo Alto Children's Theatre, 1305 Middlefield Road. Additional show times are Saturday at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m.; Dec. 16 at 4:30 p.m., Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 18 at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets are $6 adults; $ 3 children and will be available through the Children's Theatre box office Tuesdays through Saturdays at (650) 463-4970.
DANCE
The Nutcracker
Western Ballet presents "The Nutcracker" tonight at 8 p.m. at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St. Choreographed by Alessandra di Pierro, with additional choreography by Mark Foehringer, the ballet features Peter Tchaikovsky's famed melodic score. The performers will include 60 students and 20 artists from the company. Additional performances will take place Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 and 6 p.m.
Tickets are $22.50 adults; $18 for children 12 and under, students with ID and seniors. Tickets are $7 for "Nutcracker Sweet Tea," an event that will take place in the lobby rotunda following the Saturday matinee (at 4:30 p.m.), where attendees will have a chance to meet characters from the production. Bili the Mime
Bili the Mime will perform tonight and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Cubberley Theater, 4000 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto. Sponsored by the International School of the Peninsula of Palo Alto, the performances are recommended for adults and children aged 8 and up.

West Bay Model Railroad Association
The West Bay Model Railroad Association presents its 2004 Christmas Show this weekend at 1090 Merrill St., next to the Menlo Park Caltain Station. On display will be many different models of passenger and freight trains that operated on American and European railroads during both the steam and diesel eras.
The show will be open to the public tonight from 7 to 10 p.m.; Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 12 to 5 p.m.
Admission is free, but donations are greatly appreciated. Raffle tickets for a new train set will be on sale at the door. The drawing will be held at the end of the show on Sunday.

Modernbook presents a photography exhibit and book signing for Mona Kuhn tonight from 7 to 10 p.m. The exhibit of her new photography will run through Jan. 13. 3 Artists
"3 Artists," featuring paintings by Richard Godinez, and Stephen Osborn and drawings and paintings by Masako Miki, will open today at the Center for Integrated Systems Art Spaces, located on the Stanford University campus. The exhibition will run through Feb. 10. A reception for the artists will take place on Jan. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra
The Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra will perform on Saturday at 8 p.m. at Spangenberg Theater, 780 Arastradero Road in Palo Alto. The concert will feature Mozart's "Sinfonie Concertante in E flat Major, K. 384" (featuring violinist David Abel and violist Benjamin Simon), Boccherini's "Sinfonie in B minor ("La Casa del Diavolo")" and Tchaikovsky's "Serenade for String Orchestra."

Fortnightly Music Club
Fortnightly Music Club will present its holiday concert on Sunday at 8 p.m. at the Palo Alto Art Center, 1313 Newell Road in Palo Alto. The program will include "The Twelve Horns of Christmas," featuring holiday music for 12 French horns, with some special arrangements by Arthur Barnes. Works by J.S. Vision 5
Vision 5 will exhibit recent works at the Pacific Art League Gallery, 668 Ramona St. in Palo Alto. The show will open with a reception tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and run through the weekend. Additional viewing hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m.
The exhibition will feature figurative marble sculptures by Erika Odian, photographic images by Lauren O'Rourke and Darwin Poulos and landscapes by J. William Waters and Nancy Wong. Chanticleer
Chanticleer returns for their annual Christmas program on Tuesday and Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Stanford's Memorial Church. The Grammy Award-winning a capella ensemble, comprised of 12 singers, is under the direction of Joseph Jennings. Presented by Stanford Lively Arts, the program will feature sacred songs, spirituals and carols.
Tickets are $44 general admission; $22 Stanford students. Half-price tickets are available for young people age 15 and under, and discounts are available for students. Sing- and Play-Along Messiah
The Stanford University Department of Music presents its annual "Sing- and Play-Along Messiah" tonight at 8 p.m. at Stanford's Memorial Church. Orchestral parts will be provided and players are welcome to play as many of the selections as they like. Stephen Sano, Stanford's director of choral studies, will conduct.
